Comfortable gesture control

25 11 2010

A lot of video recently pop up in these tech blogs about hacking Kinect and enable multitouch gesture control. It IS pretty cool and awesome….
However, do you really want to have your arm held in the air when surfing internet and checking emails?? REALLY… That would be kind of tiring, dont you think?
This video shows Kinect controlling Windows 7 and web browser. COOL! But, multiply this video length by 20, you’ll probably strain your arm.
Most of the gestures are confined above your wrist with different combination of your fingers position. Arm gestures are useful but only when it does not involve too much of extending your arm forward and holding your hand.
The reason my multitouch surface is so popular now is because its functionality and comfort. User only have to use minimal movement in between their fingers to create a wide range of controls.
